In honour of Jaclyn’s birthday, her family has chosen to support a meaningful initiative through the Israel Magen Fund of Canada. Inspired by Jaclyn’s values and spirit, they invite friends and loved ones to join them in raising funds for the Ashdod Rehabilitation and Therapy Centre in Israel—a future place of healing, hope, and strength.
Each year, on Jaclyn’s birthday, we honour her legacy by supporting a meaningful project in her name.
This year, we have chosen to support the Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre—a future place of healing for individuals recovering from trauma, illness, and injury. Although the centre is still under construction, once completed, it will expand access to specialized therapies and provide vital support to patients on their path to recovery. We are committed to uplifting spaces that offer comfort, care, and hope—values that Jaclyn deeply embraced.

Bringing Vital Care to Southern Israel
The Ashdod Centre will deliver vital rehab care to southern Israel’s most vulnerable patients.
The Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre is set to become a vital resource for southern Israel, providing critical medical and rehabilitative care to trauma victims, children with disabilities, and pediatric cancer patients.
Southern Israel faces a severe shortage of rehabilitation services, a situation made worse by the October 7 war. Nearly 30% of wounded patients and the majority of war victims are from the south, putting immense pressure on an already strained healthcare system. With only 11 rehabilitation centres in the region compared to 43 in central Israel, wait times can exceed a year. Children with disabilities and cancer patients are often forced to travel long distances to receive the care they need.
The Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre aims to address these urgent challenges by offering timely, accessible, and high-quality treatment close to home. The facility will include rehabilitation clinics, a hydrotherapy pool, modern medical equipment, daycare services, and educational spaces. Conveniently located near the Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital, it will serve hundreds of patients each month and become a cornerstone of care for the region.
