Advancing Healthcare: New Rehab Center in Israel's South

The Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre Project

Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre

Bringing Vital Care to Southern Israel

The 2025 Negev project will support the Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre, a vital resource for southern Israel.

This year’s Negev project will support the Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre. The center will provide critical medical and rehabilitative care to trauma victims, children with disabilities, and pediatric cancer patients in southern Israel.

Southern Israel faces a severe shortage of rehabilitation services, exacerbated by the October 7 war. 30% of wounded patients and most of the war victims are from the south, stressing an already overwhelmed healthcare system. With only 11 rehabilitation centers in the south, compared to 43 in central Israel, wait times are often over a year. Children with disabilities and cancer patients must travel long distances for care. The Ashdod Rehabilitation & Therapy Centre will help address these challenges by providing timely, accessible treatment for those in need.

The center will feature rehabilitation clinics, a hydrotherapy pool, modern medical equipment, daycare, and educational spaces. Its goal is to offer high-quality care close to home, reducing the need for long travel times. Located near the Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital, it will serve hundreds of patients each month.

Guest Speaker

Noa Argamani

Noa Argamani

Survivor of October 7th, Advocate for the Captive

Noa Argamani became a symbol of resilience and global solidarity after her kidnapping by Hamas during the Nova music festival massacre on October 7, 2023. She was held hostage in Gaza for 245 days, enduring immense psychological and physical hardship. Her dramatic rescue by Israeli forces in June 2024 captured the world's attention and became a defining moment of hope.

Since her return, Noa has chosen to speak publicly about her experience to raise awareness for the remaining hostages, advocate for their release, and amplify the voices of those affected by terrorism and violence in Israel. In April 2025, Noa was named as Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2025.
