The Israel Magen Fund of Canada is proud to share an essential achievement in our ongoing mission to strengthen Israel’s emergency services: the delivery of the very first 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) rapid evacuation rescue vehicle through our ZAKA Vehicle Fundraising Project.
The handover ceremony, held recently in Israel, marked more than just the arrival of a vehicle; it also symbolized the culmination of a significant milestone. It represented the power of generosity, partnership, and hope. This vehicle was made possible thanks to an extraordinary donation from one of our generous supporters. At the same time, it stands as a symbol of the collective commitment of our entire donor community. Each gift, regardless of its size, plays a vital role in advancing this life-saving project.
The WD4 rapid evacuation vehicle is fully customized to meet ZAKA’s unique emergency response needs. From advanced equipment to reinforced design, it was built to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies—whether evacuating victims, providing urgent care on the spot, or transporting first responders to where they are needed most. After months of preparation, we are honoured to see this vision come to life and to know that ZAKA’s volunteers now have another powerful tool to carry out their critical work.
But this is just the beginning. ZAKA, one of Israel’s leading search and rescue organizations, faces mounting challenges as its aging fleet struggles to keep up with the increasing demands of emergencies and disasters. Volunteers, who serve on the front lines of crises, need modern, reliable vehicles to save lives without delay. Outdated equipment compromises their ability to perform, and every moment lost can mean lives at risk.
Through our ZAKA Vehicle Fundraising Project, IMFoC is dedicated to addressing this urgent need. Our campaign goal is ambitious but essential:
7 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) rapid evacuation vehicles for swift crisis response.
17 fully equipped ambulances to rescue victims and deliver urgent medical care.
25 emergency motorcycles to navigate quickly and reach those in immediate need.
The total cost of this project is $4,449,000, and the delivery of this first vehicle is proof of what can be achieved when we come together. With your continued support, we can reach this goal, put more life-saving vehicles on the road, and ensure that ZAKA’s dedicated volunteers have the resources they need to meet emergencies with strength, speed, and compassion.
We invite you to join this journey. Every contribution—whether large or small—helps save lives, strengthens Israel’s emergency services, and protects communities in times of crisis.
One vehicle has already been delivered.
Many more are urgently needed. Together, we can make it happen.
