Double Miracle: Two Sets of Triplets Delivered Within Hours at Ziv Medical Center

Ziv Medical Center in Tzfat made headlines this week with an extraordinary medical feat—delivering two sets of triplets within just five hours of each other. The back-to-back deliveries, involving six babies in total, are being hailed as an unprecedented event in the hospital’s history and a powerful testament to its readiness and medical excellence.

The first birth occurred during a scheduled procedure at 34 weeks, while the second—a high-risk delivery at only 26 weeks—was an emergency C-section due to early labour. Both mothers, residents of northern Israel from Tuba-Zangariyye and Kibbutz Machanayim, gave birth to two boys and one girl each.

Such complex deliveries require extraordinary coordination. Teams of obstetricians, anesthesiologists, midwives, NICU staff, and neonatal specialists worked seamlessly to ensure the safe arrival of all six newborns. Hospital Director Prof. Salman Zarka praised the medical staff for their professionalism, noting that this rare event highlights Ziv’s multidisciplinary approach and its ability to respond rapidly to critical situations.

But even with the most dedicated teams, lifesaving equipment remains essential, especially in cases like these. That’s why the Israel Magen Fund of Canada (IMFoC) is proud to support Ziv Medical Center by raising funds to purchase urgently needed medical equipment.

Ziv’s maternity ward currently lacks critical tools required for neonatal care, including an Infant Ventilator System and an Open Incubator and Resuscitation Station Device—both vital for supporting premature and high-risk newborns in the Delivery Rooms and Neonatal Department.
